Michelle Morgan is a Canadian actress and singer who currently plays Lou Fleming on the CBC television series Heartland.
Bio
Michelle is the fourth of six children from a Chilean-Canadian family. She was born in Calgary and grew up moving between Vancouver and Toronto. She developed her love of acting while "goofing off" with her high school improvisation team, and went on to study theatre and classical literature at the University of Toronto. Michelle began her acting career on the stage, performing in everything from Shakespeare, to a British farce, to new plays developed with her peers. Her first professional acting job was playing a showgirl in the British farce "Shady Business". Michelle has also performed sketch comedy at Laugh Sabbath nights in Toronto, and has collaborated with acclaimed comedians Chris Locke and Nathan Fielder on short film projects. Michelle's first appearance on the big screen was the lead role in George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead. Other notable appearances include Stargate Atlantis, The L Word, Bunnyhug and The Smart Women's Survival Guide. Michelle began starring in the CBC television series, Heartland, in 2007. For many years she has volunteered with women's shelters across Canada, developing drama workshops for children and public speaking workshops for mothers. Michelle believes that everyone has a right to a safe and loving home. In her free time, Michelle loves to cook, write, grow plants, and spend time with her family. She has a passion for all board sports, growing up snowboarding and later picking up surfing on her travels throughout Central and South America. Michelle hopes to one day work with her heroes Tim Burton, Wes Anderson, and Michel Gondry. Michelle married Derek Tisdelle on June 30, 2012.
